In October of ‘98 I was situated perfectly to ambush a 150-class buck that I had glassed enough to consider him patterned. It was still dark, but soon the buck would be returning to his bedding area, which would put him dangerously close to my stand.

My senses were alive with anticipation, the sounds of birds, squirrels and a half dozen roosted turkeys accompanied the sight of a beautiful sunrise and the smell of autumn. As I was enjoying my surroundings, I realized that the smell of autumn was accompanied by the smell of my rubber hunting boots! Carbon suits work great, but carbon boots?
