In October of ‘98 I was situated perfectly to ambush a 150-class buck that I had glassed enough to consider him patterned. It was still dark, but soon the buck would be returning to his bedding area, which would put him dangerously close to my stand.

My senses were alive with anticipation, the sounds of birds, squirrels and a half dozen roosted turkeys accompanied the sight of a beautiful sunrise and the smell of autumn. As I was enjoying my surroundings, I realized that the smell of autumn was accompanied by the smell of my rubber hunting boots! Shortly afterward, the sun was up and its warmth generated even more rubber odor. “This is ridiculous! These boots are going to ruin my hunt!” I thought to myself. At that moment I decided that hunters need a better solution than rubber boots to conceal human odor.

This wasn’t the first time that I had doubted my footwear’s effectiveness. For years I have watched game spook as soon as they crossed my trail. It didn’t seem to matter how much I scrubbed my boots with scentless soap, how much I had worn them, which brand of scent eliminating spray I used, or which type of cover scent I used.

The problem is that hunting boots and apparel constantly shed molecules of their composition. The rubber, leather, cordura and fabrics that our gear is comprised of, each have an inherent odor. With every step we take, these material odors as well as human odors, contaminate the environment spooking game sometimes days after we have passed.

After literally years of research, patenting and field-testing, the solution is here. Through new plastics technology, we have created a totally and completely odorless barrier between hunter and environment and much, much more.

Elimitrax protects you where it counts most, from ground level up to your thigh, if necessary. Now you can hunt confidently knowing that you are leaving absolutely no ground scent. Even the taller foliage and CRP areas that you have walked through remain as if you were never there.

Like never before, you can now create a 100% natural game trail. In the past it has been difficult or even impossible to fool mature animals with man made game trails. Typically, only young rut crazed bucks would respond. The buck that we’re after is smart and cautious, he won’t follow even the sweetest smelling doe if her tracks are accompanied by those of a hunter, and trust me, he will know. Now, by using Elimitrax over boots, you can easily create a trail that even the oldest, smartest and most cautious buck will eagerly follow, right to your stand.

Knee high rubber boots are great for mucking around in swamps but unless you have to wear them, breathable boots are not only more comfortable but I believe healthier for your feet. Now you can wear the most comfortable breathable boot of your choice and leave the knee high rubbers for the swamps.

Because breathable boots create not only a material scent trail but also a human scent trail, some manufacturers are now lining their boots with carbon material. Carbon suits work great, but carbon boots? It’s a good thought, but there is absolutely no way that the carbon could adsorb all human odor created by the foot, especially if you need to use the boots for more than a one day hunt. I’m sure that it would help for a short while, but your human odor will inevitably be working against you, along with the material odors of the rubber sole, leather trim and cordura. Not only are these boots very expensive but your wife is going to have a melt down when you try to reactivate them in her dryer!

The Elimitrax system is also waterproof to 11.6 pounds per inch! They aren't meant to take the place of waders, but mornings with heavy dew or rain will never again make you miserable with wet feet. You can also easily cross streams allowing you to hunt beyond boundaries that inhibit lesser-prepared hunters and harbor the really big bucks.

Like you I’m sure, I have hunted in unbearable winds and in temperatures well below zero. Elimitrax will help us with this challenge in the future by breaking 100% of the bone chilling wind. If that’s not enough, drop a hand warmer down the legging. Now you’re ready to hunt comfortably all day long. When hunting in warm weather, Elimitrax can be adjusted down to three height levels allowing you to hunt comfortably and stealthily.

Elimitrax continues to benefit you even after the hunt. Whitetails, as with most game animals become more active at night after you’ve walked from your stand. As you watch the game on TV anticipating the next day’s hunt, your trophy is patterning you. Unless you were wearing Elimitrax, you have educated him on an area to avoid during daylight hours.

You never have to worry again about over-hunting your best stand, when wearing Elimitrax you can make as many trips to and from your stand as necessary, day after day. Like never before, your scent trail doesn’t exist; it has been eliminated. You can also scout much more aggressively without fear of leaving any evidence of human trespass in your quarries core area.

About 30 minutes after sunrise on that morning back in ‘98, the buck came in like clockwork. He was much more magnificent at 40 yards than through the binoculars at a couple of hundred yards. He moved at a deliberate pace toward his daily lair until at only 30 yards out he stopped to feed beneath a large oak.

For the next heart pounding five minutes, he meandered about sucking up acorns. His direction was ever changing, never offering a sure shot. As he continued South, unlike I had expected, he eventually crossed my entry trail and that my friends, was the birth of Elimitrax. Wear them in good hunting and please send your success photos and a description of your hunt for display on the trophy room page.
